Are you in need of work?
Employment opportunities available to city residents.
All jobs are roleplay hooks only. They are meant to help deepen a character's story and connection to the City of Monsters. No gil or other forms of payment will be exchanged.
Donor
Job description
Donors aren’t true blood donors in the sense most people think. Rather, they feed those within the City of Monsters of a vampiric nature for either blood or aether. Blood donations for medical purpose are obsolete due to the City’s rare potions that will be described later in this listing. Blood donors here will either allow themselves to be bitten and/or allow their blood to be drawn so the residents of the City who need it can consume it. Aether donors work in much the same fashion, but will either give aether in person or via crystal they create from their essence.
Benefits
Donors get free food, medical care, and salary from the City. Lodging is also free.
Job Risk
The City has specific ways to combat this, but there are health risks that tend to be minimal. The largest risk is exhaustion. Due to the side effects of the medications, large donations will need to be followed with periods of no-combat-or-extraneous-activity rest. Donors can consistently provide, however they need to remain in low-activity environments if they do so consistently.
Risk Reduction
Rare herbs combine into a City-specific potion that increases blood cell production. A separate potion helps aether recovery, though currently it is not nearly to the rate of the blood-cell production potion. This eats a lot of energy, so the side-effect includes exhaustion and high increase requirement of food intake.
Requirements
A strong health record with no anemia. No phobia of vampires or biting. Understanding that regular health visits are a MUST. Understanding that you should probably not be in combat constantly or when you are on duty as a donor (with two week buffer.)

There is a mixture of magical and physical means to help those who are in the infirmary. Psychiatric care may also need to be provided.

Job Risk
Bites and other potential monster damage for those possibly out of control.
Risk Reduction

Job Risk
Chocobo bites, wing slaps and kicks. Have you ever seen an annoyed toddler? Ok, add feathers to that and double the temperamental outbursts, and increase the neediness for constant care and attention by about 400%. That’s a chocobo hatchling!

Guard
Job description
Have you ever wanted to babysit a bunch of monsters who are prone to getting themselves hurt? Well, now you can! The guard position is to protect our residents from ruffians such as monster hunters, zealots who want to ‘purge us’ for existing, and other nasty assortments of people. There are a variety of places to be assigned, such as the front yard, dungeon, or wandering inside. You can also guard the merchants or show area.
Benefits
High pay, free lunch, sometimes free alcohol at the bar, great gossip.
Job Risk
Where do we even start with this one? This would be considered a combat position, so everything that comes with that.
Risk Reduction
The City itself is incredibly rich and holds high respect from Ishgard. We have allies with many of the Knights, along with tech that protects the City. Guards rarely need to worry about true egregious injuries, for attacking the City would be about as smart as striking at any other major city. Also, it may be cold outside, but we have warming tech.
Requirements
Willing to stand out in the cold for a while, wander the castle, and chase away people trying to hurt City residents.

Where are these posted?
At the entrance of the City, and all around it otherwise.

Prison
Inauspicious Dungeon
Location: Room #15Extra strength bars, and aetherically isolated, the city prison is set up to securely and safely handle both regular prisoners, and those with voidsent or otherwise enhanced abilities.Since rehabilitation is the city's goal in most cases, the cells are rather comfortable. A good bed, and three meals a day are provided. Select books are available upon request.
What to expect
The prisoner is stripped of all but underclothes and put into prison clothing. An orange dyed hempen shirt and trousers.
A magic-nullifying collar is placed onto the prisoner to prevent spellcasting.
All of the prisoner's items, including & especially weapons, will be thoroughly searched, then secured in a magic-nullifying storage container.
Prisoner diet will be accommodated by the City, along with any other circumstances the City is able to aid with.
Torture is prohibited. If the crime is the trafficking of people or r*pe, an execution will occur immediately. Other crimes will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Most prisoners will be put on a ‘rehabilitation’ program, in other words, ‘killing with kindness’, until they are not a danger to society, and can be safely released.
Security
The prison is under round the clock guard, and escaping is ill-advised.Due to the nature of the individuals the city deals with, this is a maximum-security prison with magitek involved. For the safety of the City resident's, the turrets will shoot on sight anyone attempting to leave before being officially released from the prison.
